Stoney Middleton Parish Council
Welcome to the website of the Stoney Middleton Parish Council.
This site is maintained by the Parish Council to provide a service to the whole community.
We want to include news of other village activities and societies. In particular we can include details of contacts names, (addresses, phone numbers and emails) of all officers and notice of meetings. If you would like to discuss this further please contact Marija Nicholson 01433 630526 marija@stoneymiddletonparishcouncil.org.uk or just email us with your notices and suggestions.
The success of this website is very dependent on everyone participating. The more news we receive the more interesting it will be for everyone. All village events can be advertised under "Forthcoming Events" in the left hand column. The Parish Council is also happy to circulate an email a week or two before an event so that it can be seen by people who don't live in the village and, if so requested, the press.
The story of the successful village campaign to Save Stoney Middleton School can still be accessed at:-
Archive - The Successful Village Campaign to Save Stoney Middleton School .

Our Aims
In developing the site the Parish Council hope to provide a service and discussion forum for the whole village including:
Parish Council News
Details of All Parish Council News including arrangements for meetings, agendas and minutes.

At the beginning of WWII, I was called up for service in the Italian Army and sent to Tunisia by Benito Mussolini. Almost as soon we landed, I happened to see a map of the world for the first time, and was instantly struck by the difference in size between the allied states of Germany and Italy compared to the size of The USA, The USSR, and Great Britain combined. Italy and Germany together seemed small and insignificant and it was at that precise moment that I understood Italy would surely lose the war. Being less naïve than the Germans, we Italians knew that Mussolini was only using us to show Hitler that we were his allies and all we soldiers really wanted was to get home safe and sound.
