We have received the following item from Elizabeth Gould enquiring about her Aunt Emma Blood - if anyone has any news we will be glad to pass it on.

Hello Everyone

I am wondering if the residents of Stoney Middleton remember EMMA BLOOD born circa 1901-04. She had 2 more sisters Ivy and Lilly. Their father was wounded and died from war injuries and then their mother remarried. Ivy and Lilly moved out of the area when they got married. Emma went into service at what I have been told at the`big house at Ashbourne. She married Thomas Gould of Wirksworth. During their married life they lived at various places, Middleton top, Stoney Middleton and Wirksworth. Thomas died in the 1970`s and Emma in the 1980`s. They had 1 son called Alan who died in 1996. Emma and Thomas are my Aunt and Uncle and I would love to hear about Emma`s childhood

kindest regards

Elizabeth Gould
