Stoney Middleton Parish Council - Councillor Vacancy

NOTICE OF A CASUAL PARISH COUNCILLOR VACANCY TO BE FILLED BY CO-OPTION


Stoney Middleton Parish Council currently has a vacancy for a Parish Councillor.


There is so much to do at a grass-roots level, from managing community spaces and working to improve facilities in the village to reviewing planning applications.


Over the next year, the Council intends to progress initiatives, as identified during Village Plan consultation events that were held pre-Covid. There will be something for everyone to get involved in.


If you are interested in joining a diverse seven-person team and becoming a Parish Councillor, please email a letter, setting out why you wish to become a councillor, to Anne Flint the Parish Clerk by Monday 7th June 2021 together with a completed

Co-option and Eligibility Application Form (attached).


Please note, all Parish Councillors are volunteers; they do not get paid.

You can become a councillor as long as you are:

  • British or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union

  • At least 18 years old

  • Registered to vote in the area or have lived, worked or owned property there for at least 12 months before an election; and

  • Have not been disqualified from becoming a councillor.
